September 3 & 4:
Come to Proutopia! There's a pop-up market right down the road from us, at Heidi Hunter's place, and over a dozen artists of all media will have their work on display and available for purchase. I'll be there with my CDs, playing songs from "Marie's Forest", and taking names for pre-sale for my book "Prairie Girl's Song". This is an artist's sale, not a 'craft' sale, and the calibre of work is amazing! Here's the link for more information: http://online.fliphtml5.com/hwdg/lpoa/#p=1
I'll be giving a Singer/Songwriter performance at "BeachScape", 12:00 noon - The Beach Mainstage* - Winnipeg Beach, MB, singing songs from my CD "Marie's Forest" and talking a bit about how I came to write each song. My husband, luthier Fred Casey will be accompanying me.
"Prairie Aloha", our group of `ukulele players who are devoted to learning music from Hawai`i, will perform later that afternoon at 2:00 pm, also on the Mainstage*.
*(In case of rain, all events will be moved to the Winnipeg Beach Community Centre)
"MASS APPEAL" `ukulele gathering! Oodena Circle, The Forks, Winnipeg, MB This is going to be an amazing gathering of as many `ukulele players as we can fit into the Oodena Circle! It is free, it is open to players of all abilities whether you know 2 chords or 200, and it will be FUN! If you click on this link, , you will see that you can download all the music and try it out between now and then. There are also notes and videos or sound clips for each song so you can become familiar with the tunes. We will meet at 6pm and have a run-through/rehearsal from 6 -7 pm, and then from 7:30 - 8:00pm we will perform the numbers. Bring chairs, music stands, and maybe something with long sleeves depending upon the weather. If it rains we'll move it to under the Canopy near the Market area. https://massappealwinnipeg.ca/ukuleles/
