Upcoming
2018:
September 08:
Fred and I will be doing double duty at this year’s “BeachScape Harvest & Traditional Music & Arts Festival”. Join us at the Bandstand at noon where I’ll be singing my original songs, and then at 2:00 p.m. you’ll hear our Hawaiian `ukulele group, “Prairie Aloha”. There will be a lot more traditional music throughout the weekend along with some of our fall favorites like an outdoor craft & vendor market and more, starting at 9:00 a.m. and running through until 7:00 p.m.

September 13:
"MASS APPEAL" `ukulele gathering is happening again! For the first gathering in 2016 we had 85 ukers filling the Oodena Circle at the Forks. Last year, despite cold, rainy weather, over 65 players filled the Via Rail station with music. This year we’ll be gathering in St. Vital Park (near the duck pond). It is free, it is open to players of all abilities whether you know 2 chords or 200, and it will be FUN! The music/song sheets, notes and videos or sound clips for each song will be posted on-line so you can become familiar with the tunes. We will meet at p.m. and have a run-through/rehearsal from 6 -7 pm, and then from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. we will perform the numbers. Bring chairs, music stands, and maybe something with long sleeves depending upon the weather.
September 21 – 23:
What is a Crankie, you ask? Well, you’ll find out if you attend the 1st Annual Winnipeg Crankie Festival! Held all weekend at the Crescent Fort Rouge United Church (525 Wardlaw), there will be workshops, performances and general good times. Learn how to make your own crankie! I’ll be giving a beginning `ukulele workshop and a storytelling workshop as well – and we MAY even have our own crankie to show you!

September 27:
My dear friend, the illustrious poet Peter Paul Van Camp, is back in town and we will be sharing an evening of our songs, stories, poems and general tomfoolery at Gordie’s Coffee House (127 Cobourg St.) Show starts at 8:00 p.m., so get there early to get a good seat. And by the way, Mr. Van Camp and I would be tickled pink to come to YOUR house to give a concert. Why, it would be an evening to be remembered, I’m sure! Why not contact me to arrange something?
